      Thus it becomes clear that in technical terms, the word keyword density does not exist. But if wish to have ranking for a particular keyword, it is necessary to have that particular keyword on your web content. It is better to avoid repetition of keywords on the web content and may people fail to realize this. This is because the websites is likely to be penalized for overuse of the keywords as the search engines use the correlation between the keywords while ranking your website.

      Does it help to link your website to other sites to improve your rankings?

     The answer to the above question is no and yes. It will not be very effective if your website have external links. However, the site will not create a favorable impression on search engine if the site does not have outbound or external links. It will be better to link your website to few authority sites. But evidences depicts that having links to your sites benefits much as your website acts like a reliable resource in this case.

     This approach will tend to decrease the traffic with the external links. You cannot expect drastic improvement of your websites in search rankings and hence you should include few external links. This will also help your site from being penalized. It is highly recommended to avoid placing of the links to your home page, especially when the links do not open in the fresh window.

     Are contents really important?

     This is the best question that needs to be answered. Many websites are not updated for long time. On the other hand, there are several websites that updates the contents frequently with a view to enhance Google rankings and site authority. This approach works for some sites. The main point that must be noted is that the content updated must be relevant to draw visitors and search engines to your site. It is the quality of the contents that pays over a period of time. Nothing beats the quality content on the internet and hence content is said to be the king on internet business.

     If the website does not provide quality contents than the efforts and money invested for building the website are worthless. The website with quality content attracts the visitors again and again and these visitors bring other visitors by informing them of your website. On the other hand, if the website does not have good content than the reader will never return to your site. Moreover, if the bounce rate of your site is very high, the rankings of your website will be dropped from the search engines. This will have adverse affect on your traffic, sales and in turn profits. Quality content has no substitute.

     What about web spam?

     Google made some changes in November 2003 with respect to search algorithm that have bad impact on many top websites that witnessed a fall in their rankings. At that particular time there were several rumors with some saying Google benefited by Ad words revenue and some said that it helped the websites to increase their revenue. Though the search rankings of the top websites dropped but Google made only minor changes. The change was meant to improve user experience and relevancy.
