Getting Orginized With Your Ironing Board

How many of you find ironing to be just overwhelming and you cannot quite put your finger on why? For many folks the answer may simply be to get organized. Do you have a basket full of clothes to be ironed lying around here or there? Is the ironing board stuck off in some forgotten closet down at the end of the hall?

What about the iron; it is probably in some nuke or cranny on a shelf but you just can't remember where you last put it? Many of us go through this time consuming frustrating chore when we finally get around to ironing those special fabrics that require a little touch up.

You might want to do a reality check to see what's available for ironing clothes these days; you will probably be pleasantly surprised. The experts at hand have figured out that ironing does not have to be a totally disorganized mess. There are great new ironing products to take the hassle away from ironing, making it easier to get the job done quickly and efficiently and storage can be a snap when you have the right facilities.

Are you still using one of those old clunky boards from 30 years ago? Why not check into a professional ironing board that is sturdy and functional for your needs? Look around the Internet and see if you do not find a nice large ironing board that gives you the space you need to do a thorough job of ironing. Boards today are more versatile with settings for different ironing heights so each individual can choose the proper height for their needs.

You will not have to worry about storing a folding ironing board or an ironing board holder if you invest in a wall-mounted board. If you are use to the regular board and the hassles that come with it for storing you are going to love this! Wall-mounted boards really are mounted right on the wall allowing easier access to ironing pants and dresses.

There are no board legs to get tangled in and around the clothes you are trying to iron. These can be purchased in a surface mount or recessed. The recessed boards are stored totally out of the way and are hidden from sight where as the surface-mounted boards are still in plain view but they are folded up to the mounting platform and out of the way of your room.

The wall-mounted board is just like having your own ironing board cabinet; it comes complete with cabinet doors usually with a choice of pine or oak to give it that finished look. What is really neat about this type of organizer is that it includes storage for additional ironing supplies and the iron. No more running around trying to figure out where you stored it last. This type of cabinet will require a bit of modification to your existing wall but it may be worth it to get organized or especially if you are a seamstress that relies on ironing quite a bit.

If the enclosed cabinet sounds too expensive or requires too many room modifications you may want to go with the surface-mounted board. These are pretty easy to install using a basic mounting plate with the hinge unit that is easily attached to the studs in masonry walls. This setup does not provide storage for the iron, but you could easily put up a simple shelf above the surface-mounted board keeping everything together and organized.

Give some thought to upgrading your ironing strategy and maybe even spring for a wall-mounted board that is totally self-contained.
