The Silicon Keyboard Has Arrived

By

Keyboard killers of the world, have we got news for you. You have fried your last keyboard. We know you are tired of having to rush to the computer store and buy a new keyboard when you are in the middle of the presentation you have to do in an hour. We know you are tired of going down to the supply room at work and requesting another keyboard. That is the same supply room where they call you "Killer" behind your back.
We have a new wonderful silicone keyboard that is user-proof, easy to pack and affordable. This is the best thing that happened to us since the Internet was developed.
You can spill your coffee on it. You can drip your ketchup on it. The silicon keyboard keeps on working. The electronics are completely encased in quality silicone and are safe from people and the environment.
This unit is ultra-slim and compact. It can be rolled up or folded up. There are no any sharp edges to damage any other equipment. You can take it with you in a laptop bag, a back pack or a suitcase.
These units can be found on the Internet and in stores. They are manufactured in different styles and colors.
Although you are willing to pay hundreds of dollars for a user-safe keyboard, the prices start at around $20. In the $40 range, the user has a lot choices. The ones over $100 have lots of extras.
These are complete units. The USB cable and PS/2 adapter are included. When you purchase one of these, it is ready to use. All you need to do is hook it up to your computer or laptop.
These silicone keyboards are advertised as being virtually indestructible. These are very flexible. They are made from high quality silicone. This silicone does not emit poisonous gases or evil smells.
The silicone keyboard comes in two sizes. There is a mini size which has 85 keys and a full-size unit which has 105 keys. To give you an idea of the size of the unit, the mini size is almost 14 inches long and just over 5 inches high. On the brain side, it is just .05 inches thick. That is very, very thin.
Some people love the new flat design. When they are typing they feel very comfortable. There is no negative angle to put stress on the wrist. The typing is very silent.
At first typing on this key board feels strange. The silicone keyboard is very flat and very thin. The keys are shallow, about 1/8 of an inch high. You do feel when you make contact with a key.

Some claim they have to press a little bit harder on this keyboard than on a regular keyboard, especially on the space bar.
Where can you use this new wonder besides at your computer at home? Any place where you have problems. These were designed to be used in a harsh environment. This is anyplace you would not take your regular keyboard because of the potential for damage. Silicone keyboards can go to the beach, on the deck of the sail boat, into the paint spray booth at the auto body shop, on the tailgate of a pickup in a dusty contractor's yard, on the counter at the feed store, or on your toddler's desk next to the milk.
These keyboards are completely sealed. Water and materials like dust and sand cannot get to the electronics. This keyboard was designed to be safe in almost any climate.
The engineers did not stop with making this keyboard small, flat and flexible. They did not stop with the perfect material, something that would keep all moisture and dust and sand from reaching the electronics. They kept going. They also made this perfect invention silent.
The action of the silicone keyboard is silent. Because it does not make noise, it is the perfect keyboard to use in hospitals and libraries.
This is the keyboard to take with your laptop. It will fold up or roll up. It is not big and bulky. It is durable and small.
Finally, we have a user-proof, packable and affordable keyboard that you want to use. The silicone keyboard has arrived.

Sounds like a great improvement. I do not let milk or catsup come within 40 ft of my keyboard, but it still does get dust and, somehow, dog hair in it. (I think my dog is using it.)

These sound great-- and not very expensive. Do they have Mac compatible ones? Any downsides?

They are great. I have not seen any for Macs but I really have not looked as I am a PC guy. The only downside is my kids have no respect for keyboards now that you can get food and drink on them with problems.
